The goal of our association is to protect the tropical rainforest in Latin America and India as a common heritage of mankind. Through information and education work as well as eco-social projects in Peru, India and the Dominican Republic, Ecoselva promotes the sustainable use and reforestation of rainforests. We support local people in villages and indigenous communities in preserving ecologically diverse habitats, reforesting cleared areas and introducing sustainable forms of rainforest use. This offers them an economic perspective: they live from active forest protection instead of destroying their own livelihoods in the longer term through recurrent slash-and-burn clearing. The unique biodiversity of the region is preserved and maintained in this way.
By sending volunteers in the weltwärts program, we support partner organizations in achieving their ecological goals. After their return, the volunteers engage in development policy work in Germany in the spirit of global responsibility.
